And here’s a potential essay topic: how I need to get into (blank–still waiting for your list of schools with massive endowments, the next dominoes to fall), because my parents scrape by on a combined income of 175k a year, they really work hard–or at least sort of– and their grandparents were immigrants, and they really can’t afford for me to go to just any school and have to pay 50 or even 25 or 30k a year after taxes. The story of the family struggle, especially after they sent me to Costa Rica to build a latrine and I couldn’t even write about it.
