I am (apparently) still on the waitlist to get into Northwestern’s class of ’92, and I was flat out rejected by my (then) true love Georgetown – but none of that soured the wonderful, life-changing experience I’d go on to have at UCLA.
[An experience that was even held back from me for a time, because 1988’s fall class was so full that UCLA *deferred* me to an entry date of winter ’89… three months after ALL of my friends got to start their college careers!]
