I was just hearing about a girl on the fast track who was accepted to UCLA (no way she stays home) and then Berkeley (much better, her parents don&#039;t expect to pay for anything, as she went to public school, and I don&#039;t know what&#039;s happening this week.  But apparently the news was that while she was waiting for the results she kept the application fires going by looking into gap year stuff, since she had worked so hard to be a strong candidate to go to these schools... that she is now too fatigued to attend right away.
But it might just be a defense mechanism, preparing herself for some random rejections.  Both angles seem to be good grist for the NPI mill.
