This is a great article! My boys are the type to be all in on what they love and have no interest in sports and school plays. I worried about this being a problem, but they're winning in their chosen interests and that makes everyone happy. Ioved the "boring and obedient" comment!

Luckily for us, our daughter got into her first choice (it's one of the "public" Ivies). I don't know how she would have handled the rejection if this hadn't been the case. It was, truly, where she wanted to go from the start. She just finished her first year and, I am happy to report, she still loves, loves, loves it. Thank Goodness!

I will say this, though, if she had to go somewhere else, I'm sure that, if she gave it a chance, she would have been just as happy there. This was a conversation we had over and over and over during the whole college admissions process. Thankfully, it all worked out the way that she wanted it to, but if it hadn't, I'm sure that she would have been just fine wherever she went.
